Arnau Alemany was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1948. He graduated from the city's prestigious Massana School of Art.
Renowned as Spain’s foremost modern surrealist painter, Alemany continues to work to this day. The surrealist environments that he creates of industrialised cities, landscapes and desolate abandonment strike an existentialist chord of bewilderment and fascination.
His paintings appear in museums worldwide and may be found in the Spanish Surrealist Museum, alongside Salvador Dali and the other surrealist masters.
His original works are painted with oil on canvas, though he has also produced an extensive collection of hand-signed and numbered lithographs.
